  1. This is just for WvW. PvE will function as it does currently.
  2. Guilds are account wide, so you cannot set a different WvW guild per character. The WvW guild is selected for the account.
  3. The number of worlds can change every season. The number will always be divisible by 3, but one season could have 12 world and the next could have 15. The goal is to have worlds be balanced at the same level. That way we can create great matches. This is still being determined, but we won't use any of the current names of worlds. This is also still being determined. We will keep those suggestions in mind though :)
  4. If the alliance is capped no more players can join. It would be up to the guild on how they want to handle having those guildies play with them. Leaving the alliance and creating a new one, is what I expect most guilds would try and do. They could also leave the alliance and decide to just be sorted as a guild in the next season.
  5. Can't give an exact date yet, but it will take several months We wanted to start the dialogue early so we could hear feedback and work to improve the design where possible. The algorithm is still being created and tested. Play hours will most likely end up being the biggest consideration for creating the new worlds, along with commander time and squad size, time of day, and participation levels. We plan on updating the API so that it can recognize the new worlds created with World Restructuring. We want to release the system and make sure it meets all of our goals before adding/tweaking WvW rewards. It will become "active" when the next season starts. So if you change your WvW guild in the middle of season 1, you wont be sorted onto the same world as them until season 2. This is something that still needs to be discussed. So I don't have an answer for this yet. No. You can rep whatever guild you want. The WvW guild is just there for world sorting and forming alliances. We will look into this, but world restructuring will probably not consider the block list. It becomes too difficult to create massive worlds if it has to consider block lists when creating them.
  6. You can represent whatever guild you want. A WvW Guild is only for world creation purposes.
  7. Yes, except worlds will also consider language. So random alliances, guilds, and individuals that all have the same language preference. An alliance can not be large enough to be it's own world since alliances have population caps. It will be possible to have a world with 1 alliance and many individuals though, or even a world with no alliances and instead several guilds. It will most likely be similar sizes to the current more populated worlds or the size of linked worlds now. Possibly. That inactive player should set their guild as their WvW guild so next season they are guaranteed to be able to play with their guild. They might be able to play with their guild during the current season if the guild is on a world that is not full. Then the new system would recommend that world to the player when they enter WvW. We do not have any plans to have a leaderboard based off of this system.
  8. Claiming and slotting tactics/upgrades is all still handled on the guild level and will still be possible. You will count as 1 player. This is handled by being able to only select 1 of those guilds as your WvW guild.
  9. Alliances can be different sizes so there isn't plans to have a caps on alliances currently. Instead the world size cap will control how many alliances can be on a world. Yes, you would need to be in an alliance with all of those guilds to guarantee all those guilds being on the same world. There are no plans to change character limits on WvW maps.
  10. No. Only players who set that guild as their WvW guild will count towards that guilds WvW population.
  11. It is independent. It will be a new setting launching with the system.
  12. The current design is that there will be a new tab in the guild panel where guilds can create and manage Alliances. The guild that created the Alliance can kick guilds from the alliance. We have also discussed that no one can kick guilds from an Alliance. Instead anyone can leave an Alliance and form a new one.
  13. Guilds will be able to set their language. An alliance will take the language of the guild that created it. If you aren't playing with a guild then the system will use whatever language you set the game as to sort you into a world that is that language. The new system will use 1up1down.
  14. If you want to be sorted into the season with a "guild" then you will need join another guild that has set itself as a wvw guild. Otherwise you will be sorted onto a world individually. The current plan is to continue with what we have for now; continue with world linking and having locked worlds until World Restructuring is live.
