  1. Celestial has been the dominant roaming meta ever since expertise and concentration were added. You can put it on any class and it will do decently. Too much in the kit, like 30% more stats than any other stat set. Every build has access to boon and condition spam which synergizes perfectly with celestial stats. Harb, Willbender, Virtuoso and catalyst utilize cele probably the most from this because they all have insane might gen and defense boon spam; and a lot of power and condition damage, so they can utilize every single stat really well. Harb - permanent pulsing quickness fury and protection (not sure why this still hasn't been nerfed lol), machine gun auto attack that does high power dmg and torment every hit. healing from blight stacks that scales well. Goes perfect for cele! Virt - boons every time they evade or block an attack (lol), bladesongs do good power dmg and can be traited to apply torment, whilst the class is literally immortal with distort F4, F5 block, distort on signets, distort utility skill that stocks blades, signet that refreshes all F12345 for more distorts, oh yeah and grants distort because its a signet, stunbreak signet that stealths them, (and distort), blink, sword 2, yeah ok very nice balance here xd. Willbender - Very high power dmg and benefits alot from the condi/expertise for its passive burn spam + cripple/blinds/immobs duration, and the tankiness allows it to run glassy traitlines to do more damage. Despite that it generates a ton of boons and keeps up high might stacks, and of course concentration really improves its sustain since it has access to prot/stab/resistsance etc. Catalyst - Scepter is pretty nutty, the nerfs were good but its still very strong. Can run dps traits because it has double focus earth 4 and 5 to survive thanks to the elite skill, short cooldown block, huge resistance uptime on the sphere, perma 25 might, fury, prot, swifntess etc. Does a lot of power and burning/bleed dmg so its perfect for cele. Personally I think it will be a lot better if they cut the expertise and concentration on cele, it was already very strong before those were added. Then they can address some of the broken builds, like willbender with its 50 teleports and harbingers stupid quickness uptime and blight healing and of course virtuoso's distort spam.
  2. I used to be big on PvP from 2015 until EOD released, that was the nail in the coffin for me. Over the years it's just progressively become worse and worse with band-aid fixes and neglection from the dev team. Balance is miniscule and irregular, too many amulets and runes have been removed that were not an issue back in the day because every class wasn't carried by boon and heal spamming traits back then. The sigils SUCK and are SUPER stale with like 3 or 4 being good. The runes are terribly balanced right now as well, 20% might duration or 10% boon duration instead of a few hundred extra stat points is not a good trade. CC spam has gotten pretty obnoxious, too many short cooldown CC skills that force builds to run multiple stunbreaks. I have more fun in WvW even with the broken cele meta, its better than PvP. Really poor job of balancing the game mode.
  3. Why can't we do the same treatment to firebrand? It's been meta for 4 years and everyone sick of playing it. But a new support finally becomes good and you crush it instantly. Way to go, balance team.
  4. You wait 3 years to do any meaningful nerfs to scrapper in WvW but the moment another specialization is good you nerf it into the ground, so guess what back to scrapper. Absolutely ridiculous. It doesn't matter if you do 5 small patches that are full of good changes it just takes one like this to go back to square one. What the heck is the point of a boon with 0.5s base duration?? We're going to run 600 concentration just to get 0.25s more????? Reducing the endurance generation is already a lot then nerfing every single useful thing it's dodges do is over the top.

Sorry aNet, but may i remind you how hard you butchered this class over the years with ridiculous nerfs cutting the damage on key skills by HALF, these small buffs are not going to be enough especially with how buffed up other professions are. You need to undo the awful meteor sprinkle changes that ONLY elementalist seemed to receive.

Worse than it's ever been infact. Even when ele was dominant in DPS benchmarks it was never as popular as the 2021 FB/Scg stack or the current mechanist stack, because there were so many other viable options that didn't feel like being at a complete disadvantage to play. The state of fractal balance in particular is the worst, and for some reason they continue to nerf power builds by removing the free precision gain on the potion, just because 20 out of tens of thousands of fractal players speed clear bosses using power builds. Power builds also heavily relied on banner/spotter which condi builds do not need! (or at least don't need nearly as much). As someone who mained ele from 2014 to 2020, and was forced off my class because of how useless it became, makes me so sad to see the size of the red and yellow bars and nothing being done about it. I dont play warrior much except from bannerslave a few years ago but definitely feel their pain too.

Like you guys claimed this would shake up the WvW meta but it hasn't done anything to the same 4 year old stale meta You ignored broken things in small scale even like harbinger and the celestial stat, still no address to perma stealth either kekw Apparently a well practised piano rotation on a glass build in PvE should do the same damage as someone literally afk pressing 1 on a mechanist And the profession buffs, banner changes were straight up worse than before literally everyone is screaming it into your ears, why are we adding even more brainless boon spam into the game that's already full of it. And you are not even taking responsibility to your fellow dev taunting the community but instead defending him. huge disappointment which has caused me and many others to lose the last glimpse of hope in the devs.
  8. Garbage change, it just makes power builds even worse than they already were in fractals. Please revert this asap. We already have vitality from the jade core and anvil buff, why add more.
  9. Requesting a proper rework for PvP runes and Sigils. Almost every build runs energy/cleansing/exposure/exploitation/doom and there's no other decent options apart from a few 5% modifiers, which is really boring, compared to having things like leech+hydro combo, air/fire, etc. Why not just nerf the coefficients a bit instead of turn it into a stale meta of like 10% being good sigils. As for runes, all the +boon duration or +condi duration ones are nerfed into the point of being awful, because its just simply better to run a rune like divinity that gives a ton of stat points and extra health, and a few other decent ones maybe like fighter, lynx, orr. None of the boon/condi duration ones are worth runningwhich eliminate like 70% of the runes, and the builds are extremely stale and uninteresting to craft. Please look into reworking them thanks.
  10. There is literally no reason to do fractal CMs after this update. The coins were the only incentive to make them worthwhile other than getting the achievements/titles.. Now you're better off just doing tier 4s and recs for money. Let's remove the rewards for challenging content, and force us to do braindead casual content to get money. Ah yes. Lets punish people that take time to learn mechanics and rotations and actually be good at the game. And then, lets increase the cost in which clovers are bought from fractal vendors, because lets make the price go even higher! How dare the mystic coin price drop below 2g. HOW DARE IT. It happens to be awfully convenient that a free new MMO was just released this week.
  11. It should do damage/condi to enemies IMO, and the energy mechanic is a bit questionable, maybe a constantly recharging initiative system like thief or rev would be more suited. Should have a grand master trait to make the field mobile, as well as reworking nearly every other trait because there is no synergy.

  13. My experience with Catalyst What I like - Augments are nice. Earth, Air and Healing Augment are really nice for competitive game modes, simple but effective, what we really need and a huge improvement over weaver stances imo. Water/Fire ones are a little underwhelming, maybe if the fire one gave you immunity to blind/weakness or something could be really good. Water one could heal you when striking chilled foes maybe? idk. - Jade Sphere is easy to use, combo with and some of the boons are nice. Giving us quickness is huge. What I dislike - The Traits are horrible - underwhelming, no synergy and destroys the spec. It needs a complete rework, to really be use in ANY game mode. Stop with the Auras. PLEASE. We have Tempest which does the job so much better despite already having to pick 2 out of 5 trait lines with different aura traits and never reaching full potential, but that's a core ele issue to fix another time. Remove the Aura traits from Catalyst, and replace it with something more useful. Elemental Empowerment is bad, difficult to stack and very restricted to landing CCs or spamming your aura skills, this mechanic needs to be reconfigured and its relevent traits need to be changed. We don't want 1% to all stats I'm pretty sure, we want a more specific buff so the spec has more purpose than to just 1v1 people. Just give it 2% outgoing damage/condi damage per stack, and make the stacks build off of using the profession mechanic or skills, like gain stacks of elemental empowerment while inside your jade sphere, or comboing it, or something - not mindlessly spamming your auras and CCs. - The hammer sucks. It's a big disappointment to everyone. Low DPS (bad for pve), slow and clunky (bad for pvp), doesn't offer anything more than tempest/weaver does already (bad for wvw, or just anything). You cant have a 600 range weapon be so slow and clunky. Buff the range to 1200, increase the damage and make it like hammer rev maybe, or make it more suitable for melee/short range and brawling, which means more mobility and melee attacks, so it could be good for pve or pvp. It's just bad. It sucks. I tried many times to makee it work but kept going back to other weapons and did much much better. - Jade Sphere should do damage and conditions in competitive modes IMO. They're not big, easy to get out of (ele doesn't have THAT much CC), and the enemy shouldnt be able to just sit inside lightning or fire field taking 20 damage per second. It's silly because it's good for removing aegis on enemies or blind on yourself, but that's about it. Some should do more damage than others, some should do condi, and maybe the water one can just be used for healing/support. - Elite is a lackluster and feels like the original version of rebound just being recycled... Come on get creative guys TLDR The Spec just feels like a weaver 2.0 except it doesn't do damage, it's only capable of brawling enemies, so it's just inferior to weaver's damage or tempest's support. The hammer is terrible and needs a complete redesign, along with the traits - they have no synergy, we really don't want any more aura traits this isn't an aura spec. You guys really need to prioritize some major redesigning with this spec and try again, no one is going to play it and do well outside of open world pve content. Pick a purpose for it. Weaver is already a bruiser spec we don't want another one. Cheers.
  14. staff very underperforming currently, wvw it kinda passes with good meteor placements but is not a meta pick like scg/rev/dh, and the damage in pve has been reduced to beyond a joke and its pretty useless for pvp too. edit: just realized i replied here 2 years ago and still nothing changed lul rip staff ele.
