  1. I've been thinking about this for a few days and I feel like the way the Charr society is structured, they NEED an enemy to focus on. In Guild Wars 1 it was the humans, now it's the dragons, but who will it be when the dragons are no longer a threat? Will Charr again become hostile and seek to expand their territory? Bangar Ruinbringer going after Jormag is merely the most recent example of this and he probably felt the Charr needed a common foe in order to promote cohesion among Charr society and to allow him to gain more influence among the Charr. The only way I don't see the Charr becoming hostile again once the threat of the dragons is gone is if their society goes through some radical changes, like how the Olmakhan have a completely different societal structure and now seem fairly peaceful. I would love to hear everyone's thoughts on this.
  2. I think Astralporing is unfortunately correct. However, I really want more dungeons too and have also asked for a new dungeon or two. I do not understand why they dislike dungeons so much that they want to direct us away from them, but there you have it.
  3. As I said before, just because they're not working on this currently does not mean there is not value in talking about it. If we continue to discuss a topic, it shows them that we are interested and should give them some ideas of what we would like to see with regards to fractal armor. As for them not introducing new armors outside of expansions, that's not true. They release individual armor pieces all the time and even released a whole armor set for Living Story Season 4, the Corsair armor set:https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Corsair_armor
  4. You guys have given me some things to think about. Maybe I was a little too quick to judge it, simply because I couldn't pug it or find anyone to pug it with me. I'll have to try asking around to see if I can find anyone that knows how to do it, so I can give it another shot (with a more coordinated approach).
  5. Noone ever seemed to want to do it when I asked and the one time I was actually able to find a group to do it with, we died very quick, horrible, painful deaths. Maybe I just don't know how to do it, but if noone ever wants to do that path, how am I supposed to learn it? Besides, if noone ever does that path, what's the point in having it?
  6. I've noticed noone seems to ever want to do the Aetherblade path of Twilight Arbor, myself included, because it's just insanely difficult. I feel sorry for anyone who wants to get Dungeon Master title, because good luck finding anyone to do it with you, and if you do manage to get a team together, it's likely noone will actually know how to do it and that you will all die excessively. If it were to be nerfed a bit, I think people would actually do it.
  7. If you're in NA, I would be glad to help you do the dungeons. I'll gladly do any story-mode dungeon and, if you want to afterwards, I'm also up for working on the explorable ones too (all except Arah and the Aetherblade path of Twilight Arbor).
  8. It's also possible to have get the Jackal without investing any points into masteries. If the person is completely new and has not invested any points into masteries and maybe gotten their mounts before doing anything else (maybe looked up online how to get it). It's possible to use a mount without investing any mastery points into it. However, if they got to The Desolation and unlocked their Jackal, it's much more likely they had some mastery points and were just under level 80, on a char different than the one that got unlocked the Jackal.
  9. It IS a little frustrating. You would think they would keep things like dungeons open all the time. If you have to do a whole quest chain to "unlock" the dungeon, it's a bit of a deterrent for people to even check on the dungeon, much less try to do it. I'm guessing that the reason the dungeon is never open anymore is because everyone is off doing the new content, so there's noone to do the events to keep it open. It would be nice if Anet would just make dungeons be open all the time. The events should all still happen, but a failed event shouldn't close the dungeon. Kind of like the events at the entrance to Arah. They don't close the dungeon down if the events fail. The events still happen and if an event fails it even spawns more enemies in front of the entrance, but the dungeon remains open regardless of the outcome of the events. I think all dungeons should be like this. If the events leading to the dungeon entrance fail, then more enemies should spawn and maybe there should even be repeating AoEs, like in Arah, but the dungeon itself should remain open. Crucible of Eternity has this problem too, I believe.
  10. Whether you play through it is entirely up to you. You have access to all the areas and all the masteries without having to do the storyline. The storyline does give you a few skins and some free weapons, but you can play whatever you want to play. Like the poster above me, I'd suggest getting level 80 exotic equipment, at least. (it'll help and it's not overly expensive)
  11. I could say a few things about wanting to play a skritt (which is what you seem to want to play), but instead I'm just going to point out that just because you don't want to play it, doesn't mean other people don't want to. Personally, I wish they would bring out Tengu as a new playable race, but I have a feeling we're never going to get that. I would like to see some of the Tengu history, maybe about the event that brought them to Tyria or led them to build the Dominion of Winds.
  12. I could definitely see this being abused. I admit, it would be nice to be able to have a "get out of dodge" card to play, but I think it's important to NOT have that card in your back pocket, because then it forces you to put a little bit of thought into whether you can pull it off, whatever you're trying to do. There has to be the chance that you might die, otherwise you'll just go in thinking "if things get tough, I'll just pull out," and then there's no commitment by the player to really give it everything they've got.
  13. The yellow SAB weapons are acquired via World 2 Tribulation mode. As for SAB armor, I would love to see some armor from SAB! Well unless the dev that did the work want to do it for free since he aint with anet no more, we wont see new worlds. Can't they just have someone else add to it? And I'm right there with you...I keep hoping they'll add more to it.
  14. Does anyone have any ideas for what they would like a set of fractal armor to look like?
  15. Have you heard of transmutation charges? They come in quite handy when you're trying to put a skin onto a piece of equipment with different stats. ;)
