  1. No indication of such. Last we heard of it was Battle for Fort Trinity instance. Sorry for grabbing it up again but i dont think it was mentioned but in the silverwastes fort is an blue orb that resembles the one of fort trinity.to me it just made sense cuz after zhaitans death it would not be needed in fort trinity
  2. well wasnt the orb moved to the silverwastes fort?
  3. That is because of lack of evidence in game and in the lore. The only evidence we can find is that humans are faith-based society that focused on magic instead of engineering. By contrast, the Charrs distrust magic so they focused on engineering. The evidence to support those are all over the game and in the lore. Yes some Charr uses magic but not at the level of the Flame Legion or humans, and yes humans have engineers but not at the level to rival the Charrs'. The only real evidence is that human can build stuff, but the only human that actually focused on engineering is a crazy person who built a mechanical band and a golem based on a stole design to abduct the queen. That's not really a convincing argument. Even though humans have the capacity to learn and advance, it doesn't necessarily means that they are willing to use those knowledge. It's the difference between knowing and doing. While the Charrs are building tanks, the humans are praying in their shrines. Now the humans supposedly have designed and built the Watchknights. Why now? Why not 250 years ago? According to the arguments written in this discussion, humans are capable of doing so seeing how advanced the Luxons were and how the Istani made mechanical toys. Yet, for the last 250 years, Kryta only managed to built Divinity's Reach and places shrines of the gods all over the city. Take note the name of the city, Divinity's Reach, it's appropriate to the kind of society the Krytans have become. My point is, the Watchknight came out of nowhere and was only created to setup the Living Story that, to be honest, ruined the lore for the sake of an ambitious goal of releasing content every 2 weeks. They made a Living Story with no regards to the established lore which gives me plenty of reason to be skeptic. Maybe they didn't build them 250 years ago because the steam creatures were a recent creation, and they were what prompted the idea in the first place? Perhaps it was a lack of inspiration, not a lack of capability? That is more the reason that humans are incapable of creating them themselves prior to the existence of the steam creature. However, I doubt that. They simply have no way to fabricate the parts or how to convert a clock works mechanism into a combat-ready automaton. For 250 years, humans are still using ballista and catapults while Charr are using cannons and tanks. You're basically looking at a showdown between the Roman Empire and the 1914 German Empire. For the last 250 years, they just now realize that the citizens of Divinity's Reach needs the Watchknight for protection. Protection against what exactly? The war is over. However the timing of it is suspect. It is plausible that the only reason that the humans were able to build the Watchknight is due to the human-Charr peace treaty allowing the humans access to the Black Citadel's Imperial Smelter. I mean they are at war with the Charr for that long and they never thought about building weapons of war that can rival the Charrs? Even suspending my disbelief that narrative simple makes no sense. What makes sense is that, as an act of good faith, humans are purchasing Charr goods, ordering ironwork parts, and even collaborating in the Watchknight design. If I am wrong, then I am wrong. I'm sure ArenaNet can come up with a better narrative like attacking Mord in the heart of Maguuma with the whole Pact fleet with zero intelligence information because nobody bother to send out a recon team ahead of the fleet. Yup that makes total sense, the commander is incompetent in commanding an army. Maybe what you need to remember is that what is shown in the game isn't necessarily everything that exists in Tyria. You act like humans can't use or create advanced machinery when based on the ghosts we can see at Grendich in ascalon, we can see that humans had access to cannons before the Foefire even, that's not even including the differing war weapons found by other human kingdoms. We also have evidence of humans working with clockwork technology through the Upper City and the Band and humans have also been seen infusing magic into items since early in the game through many, many experiences in GW1, with the miniatures being the example of their magic giving a semblance of life to the items they imbue. It is far easier, from what we have experienced in both games, to believe that humans were able to create the Watchknights from some forge that we just don't see in game than it was to believe that the barbaric Charr that we met in Guild Wars 1 were able to create the massive industrial society that we see today. You can't accept one hard to believe situation without a doubt and refuse to believe the other. I never said that they can't create advance machinery, since it's fairly obvious that they can create a siege engine. However, the cannons in Ascalon are stolen Charr weapons. What I've been saying is that they didn't focused on it because they focused instead on their faith, which means they never made a facility to produce the parts to make any modern weapon for war. To build a single Watchknight, they have to mass produce the gears and other parts that goes in it...where did they mass produced those parts? Divinity's Reach only have local blacksmiths. The only plausible source of mass produced parts is the Black Citadel's Imperial Smelter. So seeing that there are many Watchknights that we can beat up to scraps for fun shows that mass producing the parts are very important, otherwise it would be very expensive and if it is expensive, we would not be allowed to beat them up for fun. Not only mass producing the parts, but also mass producing the Watchknights. Where are all these things coming from?Underground facilities utilizing Magic to forge em.. just some random possible answer :)
  4. Just saying that the Engineer in this case is the Crew leader of the Drillers. the government stole the blueprints and did a sloppy Job building the machine. _Seems we stumble over the same Thing over and over here. do the charr have significant magicians compared to humansare humans capable of building their own stuff without charrwhy should the other governments prefere one race over the otherist pretty clear that we got a lot of biased opinions here regarding the races but in my opinion the races themselfs are not what should be considered here because the political structure has way too much varieties to consider some things that were mentioned are bugging me a bitassuming the leagons were united again under the khan-ur and the flame leagion joins back into the other high legions. why should their magicians have so much Impact compared to human magicians?the humans are a magical culture and the flame Legion wich got the most Magicians in the high Legion is at the Moment pretty beat up without much Option to regain strengths so i would say that this Point is sold to devinitys reach in case that "the whole asuran race" gets involved (why?) why exactly should the arcane counsil and the inquest favor the same Party .. and why should the inquest favor only one Party instead of outplaying both? why do some People still believe that the norn Society is functioning like a Country from the real world?.. they are soloists and only gather to brag drink eat and f..form families.sometimes they decide to hunt a big Prey with a Group but there is no politic involved in political matters the head of the big gathering Point may make a Suggestion what he thinks is wise but in the end every norn will make his own decision what to do
  5. Charrs have magic the same way humans have technology. They are not magic oriented culture nor is there any indication that they posses significant magical prowess. Only significant magical feat they ever did was Searing Cauldron and that was gift from the titans. I disagree. The Charr has many Legions and you're basically comparing humans magical capabilities to Blood, Iron, and Ash, which are mostly physically oriented Legions. However, the Legion that specialized in magic was the Fire Legion, which proves that the Charr posses magical prowess that rivals the humans.Thats indeed True and found everywhere in the game. sure there are Magic meddlers in all legions but u have to consider that u cant Count the Player Population for that because the Player are not representative for their legions but one individual of the Legion the PC Chose at the creationMagic in General is distrusted a lot in charr Society for the flame Legion incidents in the past but assuming that for some reason the Pro war faction withing the charr get too power and the fights are starting it would surely be interesting to witness the complicated political issues that would be accusing.it is mentioned a lot that the races in emself are not united in this thread while the ones with the most unity may or may not be the sylvari considering that the court got hit pretty hard in the past. i dont really get why so many here said that the norn would join one side or the other.. the norn are the most individualistic race and dont form armys themselfes. why exactly would u think they would join some cause united? ofcourse some may join the fighting but each norn will make a choice for himself so they would be found on either side based on their own circumstances. i gotta say in gw2 ist not as good visualised how the norn Society is build as in gw1 (my opinion) but then i dont really Play em so maybe i missed some Major stuff. most interesting of all would be the Trouble the orders and the pact would face in case of a war between humans and charr because a good part of the pact are charr soldiers and not all of em are gladium who were cast out from the high legions. there are some who are ordered to join an order for one reason or another like the charr PC himself or that kitty in "the ghosts of ascalon" wich Name i forgot (sorry)wich would cause a lot of instability and distrust that would Need to be contained somehow. in the HoT incident the PC had big influence about how to deal with the sylvari who were potential collaborators. another interesting question would ofcourse be "is THE commander still alive?" at the time of this fictive war and is the PC still capable of fighting or too old/ injured/ magically drooling to participate in the battles. If still alive then ofc the next question would be if the PC approves of the war(not likely) and wich race he is. ofcourse the reason why the war starts and who is starting it is very importend so it Need to be specified to make more detailed assumptions but here some examples with interesting feat:* PC is charr and joins the pro war anti human faction cuz of the oath sworn to the shinging blade wich may or may not be still intact (temporary death in PoF) wicjh could deal a huge blow against human Morales. PC is charr but against the war ant takes Opposition to the orders of the high Legion. this would cause quit a ruckus for the charr PC is charr against the legions reasoning for the war and joins the human side. this would definetly have an even heavier Impact PC is Human but dont join any side only try to calm both sides down PC is Human and joins the humans cuz disapproves the charr reasons - could cause some stir cuz some ex pact soldiers in the Legion might not want to fight the PC PC is human and joins the charr cuz dissapproves human reasons -> fatal blow against the human side *human side considered as kryta
  6. that may be if u only accept 1 god per class and 1 class per god Thief goes fine with grenth through the aspect of assassination / Close to death thanks to the legend theme revenant does not really fit the gods but there can be made a Connection to kormir.. ofc grenth through the "killing theme" fits almost everywere elementalist - Dwayna/ Grenth/ Balthazar/ kormir, depending on focused element and character.. for example an elementalist who prefere to just study as much Magic as possible.. fits fine with kormir
  7. Cuz Magic obviously Same goes with H.Protter. Hairgrids Dad was a "small" guy of maybe1.7meter? and the woman he used to produce his offspring was at least 3 times bigger than that propably even more? yes yes the number of limbs is the same but just imagining how that could have worked out is pretty disgusting ...
  8. Automatic.. Throw some coins into The machine and then Ur allowed to select were und wanna go to
  9. Well thats pretty much why Canach dislikes the Firstborn in the first place They are THE firstborn and the rest is JUST Sylvari
  10. Mordremoth had a Mouth, too, though; the Mouth of Mordremoth is what we kill in the Dragon's Stand metaevent. The Mouth of Mordremoth wasn't a minion, but Mordremoth itself. It's still not very clear why Anet called it "Mouth of" when it's Mordremoth itself, but it's been confirmed multiple times over that was Mordremoth's primary body.I think that while the mouth was his Primary Body mordremoth was still able to embody something else if he wanted too through his mind Connection. so he Need a "main base" for himself but the "Location" can be different. so the mouth was called that cuz mordremoth could have moved into another Body while the that Body would still be functional.
  11. well the opionions on this differ very much.. i would like to meet some People out of my personal Storys and i do with some(most times the worst of em lol+looking at u faren) im glad we got rid of some Destinys Edge members i Think Logan is in a good Place as the pacts secretary now zoija hopefully wont come back soon too. Braham is coming back now.. sadly i enjoyed him being away i never liked him and it got worse after he started his kittenmode id like to have some "coop Mission" with ur old warband as charrbut for example it would be difficult to explain why the guy who wasnt able to watch out for himself in the ghettos of div reach is now in the middle of a war on another continentwhy do People Play norn exactly?asura an sylvari characters Show up pretty often thats always a nice - ohh isnt that the guy from yeeears ago?- moment
  12. if u steal 3 boons for example:25 stacks of might40 Seconds of swiftness10 seconds of Regeneration u will recive:1 stack of might7 seconds swiftness2.5 seconds of Regeneration and those are based on ur own stats instead of the caster. this is obviously because u dont steal the boons but u rip them off the target and at the same time cast those boons u ripped off onto urself
  13. Ever fired 3 skilles into 10 Stacks of confusion ? That still hurts a LotLot of People Are really hating it
  14. If her devinity as twin goddess with some contradicting features keep her on a neutral Position cuz she sides with both sides of a coin so to speakThat could mean that she is usually in conflict with herself all the Time and evaluating every decision over and overSo if she is forced to Act it could be in her nature not to Act one sided but try to keep the acts BalancedThat would mean she gave balthazar the mirror on her own. Another thought could be that balthazar took her mirror by force and Killed her while empowering himself.I doubt this Version cuz I dont think that the "missing" of one of the other god would Not ne noticed by the rest for a longer Time. And it does not fit with the dialogues in kormir library without some heavy stretching of Interpretation. We May not know how long balthazar was chained up but I got the Impression that it did not happen recently so maybe 50-150 years back already. Even for gods this should be a considerable Time to notice if 1 of em dissapeared Well in the end we can suggest pretty much everything cuz we just dont have enough information
  15. I would not say that the Charr did not build something woth calling a Society. we still dont know much about that. but we can assume that the charr control the biggest area and just to Keep an area like that is not easy to accomplish. maybe they lack of high cultural stuff like Theater or stuff like that. but thats more to the fact that their whole Society is more militaristic and functional then what ur used too. they simply do other stuff for fun like gladiator fights for example.and u can say the same about the architecture.. (i hate it really its super ugly) still its functional they build the black citadell into a fortress made of metal scrap and junk they did not Need for warmachines(at least it Looks like that, but i think i read something regarding this in the wiki- someone wanna do some Research?) the charr are just not a race who care about "lookin nice an fancy" - and it would not fit them as they are designed now. cuz it would stand out too much from the rest of their buildings
