  1. It's been two weeks now and the problem still occurs... The known bug tracker toll wasn't updated either... I really hope a Dev could give us an answer if they are aware of this issue.
  2. Hey guys,I'm playing on an iMac late 2012 (i7, GTX 680 2GB).The performance definitely got better a few weeks ago. I still have this input/movement lag where it feels like my character is walking through goo but it's gotten a bit better. I'm playing on mid to high settings. Textures, shaders, animations and environment on high, shadows medium and player visibility and quality depending on content. Decreasing these settings doesn't really help with the FPs. I'm usually having 23-40 frames. If I decrease them I may get around 60 but only while standing still. Moving will always decrease them below 30.Something that is the biggest performance hit for me is the resolution of my display. I always have to play in subsample otherwise my fps will never go above 30 even in lowest settings. It doesn't look that nice but I personally prefer the subsampling to not having any shadows or shaders. Recently I bought an external SSD. The FPS got slightly better but the noteworthy thing is that my loading times are literally never above 10 seconds. Loading into mistlock takes maybe 4 seconds. It's amazing. I just copied my GW2 folder to the SSD and it's working perfectly fine. Because of these decreased loading times the UI also doesn't need time to load. While on my internal HDD, every UI element needed 3 extra minutes to load. Opening the inventory took two more minutes to load every item icon etc.If you can I would recommend playing it on an SSD. No matter if it's internal or external (external if you have USB 3.0 or above) This is my recent experience with the Mac client. It's great to be able to play it without having many problems anymore. Only the flickering textures are something that really buggs me currently. Thanks to all the devs!
  3. HelloI know it is a bit soon, but is there a is plan with OpenGL being discontinued in the future?Right now the Mac client works REALLY good for me and it would be sad to not be able to play in the future or don't do system upgrades. I don't know the technical limitations or if it's even possible to change it to Metal, would be great to hear. I hope you all are having a nice day.
  4. Hello,First of all thanks to all the people who are writing about their experiences with external SSD. Sound like I'm going to try that. I have a fusion drive and if feels like GW2 was placed on the SSD for a short while but isn't anymore. I wish I could decide what programs are placed on the SSD.It's been a while since I reported the state of the client on my iMac late 2012.The game is playable. But different from day to day. On some days I get above 30 frames (in non crowded areas) and can play without any problems. It's always stuttering if something loads in but I can survive that. The weird thing is on other days the performance is horrible. Nothing is loaded after 3 minutes of loading screen. All UI elements take ages. And the fps is roughly 5 for the first 5 minutes of the game. When this happens the whole play session will be stuttering the whole time and I can't play with enjoyment.Lately the good days happen more often than the bad so that's good. But I feel like many windows user have weird performance issues too. In their cases it's from 90 frames to 60 and not 30 to 5. But I'm positive the client will get better and better. I'm grateful to be able to play this game.
  5. The Mac client works way better than ever on old maps but the first map of season 4 is really hard on my fps for some reason. And my second issue was that every in-game cutscene didn't load. (SPOILER) When the commander wakes up in the cell, or when braham and rox join you in the final instance. The only thing I saw looked like the camera was under the map and nothing was there except a few mountains. The second was the overall performance. For some reason whenever I was on the platforms in the final encounter with scruffy 2.0 the fps went below 15. All graphic settings on low. Going somewhere else in the instance made the fps go up to 30. Would love if that would get fixed so we can see the (probably) beautiful cut scenes. (Pre rendered worked fine) My system is an iMac late 2017, i7, 2GB Nvidia GTX, 32GB RAM.
