  1. I got bored and did some math on how much time is spent gathering these currencies from scratch which a lot of us that want it to be reduced are doing. Specifically, I did the math for the currencies for episodes 2-5 since episode 6 doesn't have hearts on the map and Episode 1 (Istan) it is really easy to get the currencies thanks to getting 25 per heart complete. You can finish that maps currency in one day with only 4 characters (75 currency per character/day). The other maps however, the 250 requirement is simple way too much. All of the math I did was based around what some user said of having 6 characters to complete the hearts each day. I realize that there are other methods for the currency (meta events and map completion, but those add way more time to the total than just doing heart farming). There are a total of 16 hearts combined for these 4 maps. Each heart = 5 map currency (mc)Avg Time per Heart = 5-10 mins (average of 7.5 minutes used) Ep#2-SI: 4 hearts - 30 mins per character for 20 mc - 180 minutes for 6 characters and 120 currency - Requires 2 daily resets for 240 (just shy of 250) - 360 minutes Ep#3-DoK: 5 hearts - 37.5 mins per character for 25 mc - 225 mins for 6 characters and 150 currency - Requires 2 Daily resets (1 daily of 6 characters, 4 for the other) - 375 minutes Ep#4-JB: 3 hearts - 22.5 mins per character for 15 mc - 135 mins for 6 characters and 90 currency - Requires 3 Daily resets (#1= 6 chars, #2=6 chars, #3=5 chars) - 382.5 minutes Ep#5-TP: 4 hearts - 30 mins per character for 20 mc - 180 minutes for 6 characters and 120 currency - Requires 2 daily resets for 240 (just shy of 250) - 360 minutes So this leads to 2 possible farming methods for the currency with 6 characters, either you do each map every day with 6 characters to get it done within 3 daily resets, but this would also mean you have to spend around 120 minutes per character completing each map which would be 720 with 6 characters (12 hours of heart farming each daily reset). So for most this is an extreme amount of time doing only one activity. The other method with 6 characters would be to instead do each map one at a time changing the time to complete from 3 daily cycles to 9 daily cycles, but spending about 3 hours each daily cycle farming hearts rather than the 12 hours for the other Making this the preferable option for the majority These options both lead to 1477.5 minutes or 24.6 hours of gameplay that is dedicated to nothing but heart farming. But what about the players that don't have a bunch of alts? Lets reduce the character amount to only 1 character (a good chunk of players are at this point), and give the advantage of doing a meta event for each map every day (5 extra currency to my knowledge, could be more but I'm not logging on to verify this). Since it is only one character it is reasonable to assume that they can do each map's heart for every daily reset if they want to unlock this as early as possible. Ep#2-SI: 4 hearts - 30 mins daily for 20 mc - 12.5 (rounded to 13) daily resets - 10 daily resets if a meta event is completed each dayEp#3-Dok: 5 hearts - 37.5 mins daily for 25 mc - 10 daily resets - 9 daily resets if a meta event is completed each dayEp#4-JB: 3 hearts - 22.5 mins daily for 15 mc - 16.7 (rounded to 17) daily resets - 12.5 (rounded to 13) daily resets if a meta event is completed each dayEp#5-TP: 4 hearts - 30 mins daily for 20 mc - 12.5 (rounded to 13) daily resets - 10 daily resets if a meta event is completed each day Time spent each day farming hearts: 150 minutes (2.5 hours)Minimum amount of daily resets to collect required currencies: 13Maximum amount of daily resets to collect required currencies: 17Total time spent: Between 32.5 hours and 42.5 hours In conclusion The timegating was bad, but at least you weren't doing the same activity each day and there was something different to each collection (some of them were similar), but the current requirement for the currencies is simply way too much for the maps for Episodes 2-5. Episode 1: Istan, can be kept the way it is as it is fine to deal with even with one character, but the other ones need to either have their currencies reduced, or have their rewards per heart increased to be equivalent to Istan. Obviously a lot of the times here can be reduced by previously owning currencies, and also these times may not be entirely accurate to the amount of time actually spent finishing the currencies since there are quiet a bit of variables going in, but I believe this is a fair rough estimate. This mount wasn't promised as a "legendary" mount so it shouldn't have the same requirements as a legendary would from previously. I understand that they now made the mount as a precursor for a new legendary trinket, but that was something that was never mentioned when this mount was announced so it shouldn't be used as a way to justify the costs for a mount that was said to be "more obtainable than the griffon since it wasn't locked behind a 250g paywall." I had zero charged quartz and none of the recipes for the items required for some of the collections so I myself resorted to buying these items, and it ended up being around 200g alone for that. On top of that, the collection that required the player being frozen I attempted the meta event for claw of jormag twice and never once got frozen, so I resorted to buying the living story 3 episode where I could actually complete the collection. So in total, this mount has cost me far more gold than the griffon, WAY more time, and that is without even completing the saddle collection because if you look at the math above, I do not want to spend that much time grinding one activity for days.If the currencies are reduced, I definitely agree that those that already purchased the items should be reimbursed the difference of whatever to new currency is. Although, I believe the bumping the heart's reward to fit more in line with Istan. Since some of these maps have more hearts than Istan, it would be reasonable not to bump their rewards to 25, but instead vary based on the maps number of hearts.Examples:Ep#2-Si - 4 hearts - upgrade to 18 currency per heart (72 each day)Ep#3-DoK - 5 hearts - upgrade to 15 currency per heart (75 each day)Ep#4-JB - 3 hearts - upgrade to 25 currency per heart (75 each day)Ep#5-TP- 4 hearts - upgrade to 18 currency per heart (72 each day) Dragonfall can stay the way it is seeing as it is the new map and deserves to have the extra attention, and also makes since that we spend the most amount of time there to unlock a mount that came from this location.
  2. The fact that there was no response about the currency requirement at all and that they put the skyscale as part of a legendary collection is a pretty big indicator that they will not do anything. Considering how it takes them a month to respond back for customer support, I would imagine that they won't even acknowledge the currencies until further down the road so that they can say "well at this point it would be unfair to all the players who already purchased it," even though there is the pretty easy thing they can do where those that already have the mount can get the difference returned to them, OR THEY CAN JUST FUCKING CHANGE THE MAPS TO ALL OFFER A REASONABLE AMOUNT FOR HEART COMPLETION LIKE ISTAN. This skyscale saddle collection is simply the last straw for me, I can no longer support this game or suggest it as a reasonable game for anyone to play. I have been playing Guild Wars ever since the first game, spent countless hours on the whole collection of them, but GW2 just keeps on plunging deeper into the void and is at this point no longer recognizable as the "MMO that isn't a grind." All the game is now is just completing meta event trains each day (since they are limited to once per account per day), and grinding legendary/ascended collections.
  3. I was excited to come back to finish the LS4 story and because of this mount because after test flying it around Dragonfall, I felt I would really enjoy exploring other maps with this mount so I spent all the time doing the collections, the timegating was bad but hey they said that this mount was going to be "more available to players than the griffon mount." I ended up buying one of the LS3 maps since the collection for getting frozen wasn't working for me after doing the meta 2 times, and spending an extra 230g (just 20g less than what the griffon requires) since I literally had 0 charged quartz and 0 of the mats required to make them, but after seeing the 250 currency req for each map it just destroyed all of my excitement that helped me get through the timegates because at least with those I felt like I was closer to the mount each day. Just a few days before the mount was even announced, I had went through my bank and got rid of anything I felt I wouldn't need and liquidized it to save up for the griffon, including majority of those currencies since the things that the maps offered for them I didn't care for at all. Then shortly after the skyscale was announced so I decided to stop playing until the patch was released since I didn't feel like logging on for anything else at the time. The timegating didn't feel too great, it was tedious, but it at least made sense to me (and for the most part almost all of the collections except for the saddle, didnt require me to own all of the previous maps). I was already feeling unsatisfied with the game due to multiple problems with customer support and their lack of making anything but generic copy paste bullshit responses that took them slightly longer than a month to respond to me with, and of course solved literally 0 of the problems I was having and FORCED me to pay extra to get back what I already had in the game (thanks alot, once again go fuck yourselves). I thought that this mount would revitalize the joy I used to have for this game but instead all it did is piss me off with their brand new timegating and the saddle being the grand fucking icing on the shitcake of this whole thing. Your company obviously doesn't listen to or care about its consumers, which reminds me of a certain employee you had to fire last year in July. I hope that one day your company actually improves and listens to players feedback and develop some communication with your fanbase, as well as having a competent customer support, but until then I am done with this game.
  4. The amount of people saying that they already had stacks of these saved up beforehand probably don't understand that for any player that came to the game during path of fire, rather than before it, they wouldn't have expected to save these things up (I didn't even know about the LS3 legendary until after this bullshit req was made) and would instead convert them into VM for extra gold to fund other activities in the game. It used to be easier the get these currencies before they put a daily cap to the meta events, but when they did that it made a lot of people not care about farming these things anymore. On top of that, the rewards for these currencies in their map were usually pretty worthless. A week before the mount was even announced I had consumed all of my currencies because I thought they were useless and wouldn't get me anything that I would actually want. I tried farming these currencies but it is extremely boring. Istan isn't bad, but literally everything else is unpleasant and tedious. People probably wouldn't be so upset about the currency requirement if they were given the knowledge that the saddle would require this when the patch went live, but instead they waited until the last collection to reveal it to players. So wanting a reduction in the amount of currencies required or at the very least (probably the better option) is to make all of the maps equal to Istan, but knowing Anet they will probably just make Istan equal to the rest of the maps instead and make this bullshit grind even worse than it already is. They literally said when they announced this mount that it was suppose to be more available to the majority of players than the griffon was but yet it requires every LS4 map, cost most players on average 200+ gold (I don't even know how to do those charged quartz and that is still only 1 craft of them per day when you needed 3 food each day), was timegated to fucking hell, and then ontop of requiring each map, they put this retarded currency wall infront of the playerbase. The griffon is literally x10 easier to get instead of this mount. I can give them credit where it is due though, I didn't mind the timegating (until the end of it resulted in the retard wall) because they collections were at least fun in someway and gave me a lore reason to go around and find a huge list of items. Doing the collections in Dragonfall were great since you had access to temp skyscales so you got to preview what you were unlocking. From what I have noticed though, majority of the playerbase didn't grind any of these maps for longer than a week of them coming out because they were just more interested in the story, rather than grinding. I've done plenty of other collections this game offers and I don't mind them at all, but for the amount of time spent on just the skyscale collections alone are more than any other I have experienced, so I for sure defiantly didn't expect this bullshit currency wall to be the icing on the fucking cake. TLDR: Anet lied about it being more obtainable than the griffon, and it barely costs less gold than it. Either they should reduce the amount of currencies required or make all of the maps equal to Istan where you get 25 currency per heart rather than just fucking 5. I for one am not returning to the game unless something is changed about the currency requirement.
  5. I never cared for any of the legendaries this game offered because of how much time and gold was wasted for an item that just looks better, I stopped playing as I was waiting for the new episode to came out and I had consumed almost all of them for volatile magic so I could save up some extra gold, thinking that these stupid currencies would have been used for some legendary crap, but instead the patch comes out and I waste a week of my time grinding the collections out and not doing any of the meta events to grind those currencies back up just to have them go on the last day saying that 250 of EACH maps currency? I thought they said they wanted this mount to be more available than the fucking gryphon but it requires way more time, and just barely less gold unless you want to timegate yourself even harder than they already did. Majority of players still don't have all of the LS4 episodes, and I had just barely unlocked them myself, yet this is considered to be "more available" to the playerbase. I honestly just feel regret spending all the gold I did on this mount instead of investing it into finally finishing the gryphon. Thank you once again Anet, first you ruin my account and force me to pay extra to fix a "6 out of 5" character slot issue, after having to spend a MONTH getting customer support to even answer me. When I purchased both expansions, I only received 1 out of the 2 80 boosts as well. Then to just top the fucking cake off with this timegated bullshit and requiring 250 of each maps currency after wasting all that time since your team doesn't know how to communicate with something that people should have known prior to the patch that they should hold on to these currencies as it would be for the mount instead of some worthless legendary.
  6. Literally been over a month and I still haven't gotten a response about my issue besides the initial automated response. This is outrageous. I came back to the game after 2 years to have a bunch of account issues that they just refuse to address. I literally couldn't even play one of my characters because somehow it showed my account had 6 out of 5 character slots in use so I was pretty much forced to pay for an additional character slot since they never responded to the issue. I wanted to buy additional character slots so I can have one of each class but until I have the issue addressed I don't want to waste extra money on a company that can't even respond to a customer support ticket after a MONTH. I followed each and every step to make sure that it was as detailed as they needed it and attached any email attachments with a reply email and not the initial ticket but still nothing. The fact that their customer support has been this unresponsive for so long has made me loose faith in the game, and it is no longer fun to play since I am constantly checking everyday to see if my ticket has been answered.
