  1. You can't let bullies bully without repercussions ... that just teaches them their behavior will not impact them negatively. You must always react, if enough people do so, the bully will stop doing behavior that makes people react negatively.
  2. The thing is, i'm not the one being elitist here IBS 5 refers to the 5 Ice Brood Saga strikes, and DS is the Dragonstorm strike. The whole thing in my post is about an elitist commander treating strikes way more serious than necessary. They are very easy, anyone can do it, no matter the group setup, as long as you know the boss mechanics.
  3. Today has been a bit slow getting an IBS 5 group going. Been waiting alone advertising my group for some 5 minutes. So I take another look at the tab and notice another 1/10 group for IBS 5 + DS, decide to join them. Group starts filling up. We're in Shiverpeaks Pass. Commander asks me for my role. I'm on my soulbeast, so I say dps. Commander gets mad at me because group advertised qdps and alac. I say I joined when it was 1/10, you don't need a whole squad full of qdps alac do you? Plus this is strikes, not raids, it's a breeze. I get berated like "if everyone thought like you blablabla". I'm like whatever, didn't reply.. Strikes go fine. My damage is good. At last one, Boneskinner, I get a whisper from commander saying I shouldn't say I'm dps when my dps is lower than some alac in the group. I figure the guy is looking at some of those dps tracking mods and comparing me to a probably better player. But like, I know I'm doing good, the dude is being pedantic, and at this point very annoying considering I've done a bazillion strike runs and never had any issues. Boneskinner goes well, no problems from me, good damage, didn't down once, helped rez downed players, Boneskinner dead fast. I enter DS, decide to whisper back to the commander - "I'm doing fine, you've got some issues friend" Commander kicks me out of squad. "Case and point" I send them.
  4. I would advise to remember to earn Mastery points, as those are harder to accumulate than experience. Especially with core Tyria I find myself too often stuck on max XP but with not Mastery points to unlock the next tier, so my earned XP literally goes to waste. You get a lot from story achievements.
  5. For general purposes you will of course go with full berserker gear, aka power dps ranger .. and when it comes to healing, it comes up in niche content so your guild will instruct you how and what to do if the need for healing ever arises.
  6. I want a look back at the five races. The Charr civil war in Icebrood Saga was the first time my Charr warrior felt like a Charr since completing the personal background missions. I want more conquest and war stories where the Charr can be Charr. I also want more adventure opportunities for the Norn. I hate seeing Norn behaving like tall humans and nothing else. The Asura also feel very neutered. They have all this technological potential, control the gateway network and their golems could be made a fierce army, one which they could indefinitely renew (unlike lives lost if other races fought) - and yet the Asura play by the human rules? They aren't expanding, aren't demanding a position of leadership from the other races? It is not logical from what we know of their nature and abilities. The humans also need revolution. Their world is literally turned upside down, they have no strong identity, a new leader could spring up wanting to make humans proud again. Involve Ascalon if you want or not, it's fine either way. There's so much potential for stories if only (now that the common threat of Dragons is gone) the races stopped playing nice with each other.
  7. I haven't played since before Cantha. I was wondering how the game is doing. I'm completely out of touch.
  8. I agree with you about the Sylvari ... but what I do is have different characters for different content .... so Sylvari for the jungle, Norn for the snowy parts ... I made a human thief (daredevil) so I can weild a spear (be a sunspear) for the Elona content etc ... I have an asura for just he asura techy stuff, like the fractals ... charr for murdering ghosts in ascalon (was so excited when icebrood saga started out charr focused) you dont need to have a main
  9. I was watching some lore videos on the asura, and how they were living in proximity to the Mursaat, architecture similar, magics similar ... so then I thought, well if the exalted were humans that sort of transformed due to the ED threat ... why not the asura transforming into the Mursaat in the previous cycle? And considering how long ago it was, it's realistic to expect this connection to be lost. Especially in the records of the dwarves, if we imagine a scenario where only the asura elite became Mursaat and then interacted with the other races, while the other asura remaining hidden. The asura are not exactly an egalitarian society ... it is not unimaginable that only the most privileged could be transformed while others were left to fend for themselves. It also ties in nicely with asuran supremacist tendencies ... when the Mursaat appeared in Kryta it could've been an advanced force, a vanguard, preparing the asuran rise to the surface and eventual conquest ... but those plans were messed up with dragons waking again. Tough luck. I mean, we can extrapolate lots of ideas, but I think the main can work ... the asura were there in the past cycle and they made the Mursaat to fight the dragons, just like Exalted were made ...
  10. So we have the Eye of the North ... don't know who built it ... all we know it has this unique magical pool there. So what I'm thinking, what about other "Eyes" being in the world? Like the Eye of the South somewhere south of Cantha where the humans came from when first arriving to Tyria. I'm getting some "palantir" (lord of the rings) vibes here.
  11. This has probably been discussed before ... but considering how all the ED transform their minions to whatever their attunement is, it makes sense for the dwarves turning to stone be the same process. I also remember Ogden explaining how turning to stone through the ritual the dwarves are stripped of part of themselves, their individuality, although I can't seem to find the exact quote now. Thoughts?
  12. try playing saints row 4 ... that game is silly all cool all over
