GalenWolffit.3842's Achievements

  1. I'm not annoyed at getting more. I'm annoyed that when they promised they would reward people who went the extra mile, they instead are rewarding everyone who DIDN'T go the extra mile with more. I actually LIKE working for my rewards, unlike some people in these forums. It wouldn't have bothered me to work for the Leg Relic, and it doesn't bother me that I will have to work to unlock new stats as they come available. I ENJOY doing that, and would be doing whatever those new achievements are anyway, regardless of getting a new relic stat or not.
  2. Concur. Why not implement it using the existing Vendor UI that everyone is already familiar with? That can already handle limited quantity purchases, escalating prices (bags of gold), purchasing multiple of an item at once, etc. Well the answer of course is that the new UI lets them show flashy graphics to attract peoples' attention to the showcased items. But that's not a good justification for making it harder to use, IMO.
  3. I'm not upset that they said 1 rune. I'm upset that first they said 7, then they retracted that and went with 1. The problem is not the number of runes. The problem is that they made a public, official statement about what they were going to do, then invalidated that. And I am baffled as to why so many people are having such a hard time understanding the difference.
  4. @Rubi Bayer.8493 Here (https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/topic/134203-relics-bring-new-equipment-to-guild-wars-2-secrets-of-the-obscure/page/17/#comment-1948417) you said: So my question for you is: Will you stick to this statement (promise?) and recognize the extra effort put in by people who crafted seven? Or are you retracting this, and no longer recognizing the extra effort?
  5. False equivalency, but this is the internet so who cares, right? This isn't "ANet said they would do one thing, they decided to do something different due to factors outside their control". This is "ANet said if PLAYERS did something many times, ANet would reward them, then decided due to factors WITHIN their control, to reward everyone who did the thing even a SINGLE time - and give nothing extra to those who did the thing many times as originally promised". Imagine you told your SO that you would pick up dinner at their favorite restaurant, if they did something for you that they didn't really WANT to do, but were fine doing in exchange for their favorite dinner. Then after your SO did the thing for you, you told them "Oh, you didn't actually need to do that thing you didn't really want to do; I'm going to not only buy your favorite dinner for you, I'm going to buy dinner for anyone on the block who did something nice for me this month". You might find yourself sleeping on the couch, if you pulled a stunt like that.
  6. I didn't craft the 7th thinking it would get me a free relic. I crafted the 7th thinking it would get me significant progress because ANet said it would, months ago. Turns out that was a lie, I didn't need to craft the 7th rune at all, because even a single rune was enough. I took action based on what ANet said in an official announcement. ANet then changed their minds, invalidating the action I took based on their official announcement. That's the problem.
  7. Sure it does. (1) you have it available on all characters, (2) you can which relic it is freely. To start, you'll have all the existing relics available to choose from. All of them. When new relics are introduced, you'll just have to do whatever is needed to unlock that relic (i.e. play the story, beat the strike mission, whatever). For example in SotO, when you complete 8 SotO achievements, you unlock Relic of the Akeem. Following that through to the logical extension, in NextExpac, to unlock Relic of Awesome, you have to complete some number of NextExpac achievements - and once you do so, Relic of Awesome would be added to your Legendary Relic selection. I would say that "automatically unlock new stats" is one of the most minor parts of what legendary gear offers, so having to do a tiny amount of work doesn't make it mean nothing! When the leggy relic gets released you will get all relics unlocked. "Legendary relics will come with all Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure relic effects unlocked". It's just FUTURE relics (that don't even exist yet) that won't be unlocked automatically.
  8. So those of us who crafted a 7th legendary rune in anticipation of the additional progress towards the legendary relic are SOL? Or, to put it differently... ANet: Hey players, if you do the thing, you'll get some additional rewards Player: Okay great, I'll do the thing! ANet: LOL just kidding, no additional rewards
  9. It seems unlikely to me that the legendary relic will need essences. Based on the crafting recipes for current relics vs. their rune counterparts, I expect the legendary relic will require the same materials & quantities as crafting two legendary runes.
  10. Or at least a "refinement" of some sort, e.g. combine 5/10/50/100/250 (whatever quantity makes sense) Essences of Despair --> 1 Concentrated Essence of Despair or something, A no-cost refinement like what we have for basic wood/ore.
  11. Because of the controversy over the use of generative AI trained on other peoples' intellectual property.. would be nice to know if ANet is okay with using that (permissive policy), expressly opposed to using that (prohibitive policy), or apathetic (no policy, meaning it might be used or it might not and even ANet might not know)
  12. Does the Guild Wars 2 development team, or ArenaNet in general, have a stated policy on using Generative AI to produce or inspire new game content/story/lore/etc? If so I'd love to see what that policy is. Has the GW2 team used Generative AI to produce any GW2 content to-date?
  13. I suspect that the legendary runes you have will progress whatever achievement is needed to get something you need to craft the legendary relic; in that case yes, runes you craft after Feb 27 will count towards crafting the relic (unless of course you've already crafted the relic). Most legendaries do, so probably yes. Hopefully togglable like the legendary trinkets Rune of the Warrior: Orichalcum, Armored Scale, Onyx Lodestone Relic of the Warrior: Lucent Crystal, Armored Scale, Charm, Ecto Legendary Rune: Gift of Runes (Mystic Aspect, Clovers, Ecto, Obsidian), Gift of Craftsmanship, Gift of Condensed Magic/Might Based on this my guess for the Legendary Relic is: * Gift of Reclics Mystic Clovers, Ectos, Obsidian; and some new relic-specific "Mystic X" (similar to Mystic Aspect/Mystic Mote, but using something relic-specific; maybe that you get some of for "free" when you craft a legendary rune) * Gift of Craftsmanship * Gift of Condensed Magic * Gift of Condensed Might
  14. Yeah. More unskippable dialog that I've heard multiple times before, because.. well, you know.. I did the whole story, listened to it all, did all the achievement (ANet says LOL just kidding no you didn't here's more) so I go through it again... (ANet says LOL just kidding you can't get that one yet we didn't bother testing it and it doesn't work), so I go through it yet again... Not to mention when you replay it on a character who's already done it (as opposed to slogging through the 7 previous chapters on a new character), you don't get a motivator - which means you have to buy or build a new Tier 2 motivator to progress the story up to the "Close a Tier 2 rift" step, then upgrade it to Tier 3 or hope someone happens to be Tier 3 rift hunting at the time. So no, you don't just "Start 8, talk talk talk, and you're there". It's not that simple.
  15. @Rubi Bayer.8493 I hope the fix will include a way for people who already progressed past that step by closing a Tier 3 rift as required to get credit, or go back and replay it easily.
