  1. Really want shield and rifle for Ranger 🙂 Double daggers for Guardian. Longbow for Thief.
  2. All my characters are lore-friendly, including name and appearance. I do love the simple NPC look, imagining my characters as almost NPCs in the game, and thinking about their own personal stories and how those stories may or may not connect with the main GW2 story (most of my characters' stories don't affect the main story in any way). I'm obviously biased, but I do love how all my characters look. I would say 4 main things influence my choice for a look: (1) profession, (2) race, (3) personality, (4) background and occupation/lifestyle. I also like to keep their looks consistent as a big group, because their stories connect at some point, and I like to think of them as part of a larger guild or organisation. So I do want them to all look good together.
  3. I don't mind a GW3 as long as they don't stop working on GW2. But this is unrealistic, right? Does "GW3" mean "replacing GW2 with a sequel?", as in "moving resources from GW2's production to GW3"? If that's the case, then no. I've invested way too many resources (time, money, emotions) into GW2 and my beloved characters, especially my main. If they want to and are creative about it, they could find a way of linking GW2 and GW3 in a way that's fun and worth playing both games instead of just one. Something that incentivises players to want to spend time in GW3 as well, but also go back to GW2. This however, like I said, sounds unrealistic. They would be working on two games instead of just one. Thoughts?
  4. One day I want all weapons unlocked for all professions. I think we might get there. I would love to get either rifle or shield next.
  5. I agree! I would personally love to unlock new cultural armor sets (and other cultural items) by playing optional racial side-quests, that would explore bits of cultural lore that are not part of the main story (e.g., sylvari characters could learn what happened to Malick and whether there are more sylvari trees like the Pale Tree; charr characters could catch up with members of their warband; norn characters could help the havroun of their Spirit of the Wild; and so many more opportunities for interesting plots and associated rewards).
  6. Thank you for the ideas! I ended up choosing the name Lysith, inspired by the Greek mythology name Lysithea (which means "goddess of release, loosening"; fits Lysith's story pretty well since she was a captive but was able to free herself and escape). I wanted a Greek name because as far as I could tell, the harpies are first mentioned in Greek mythology 🙂
  7. Hey everyone. I'm creating a harpy OC and would like to choose a lore-friendly name for her. Does anyone know what the naming convention is for harpies? The only first name I know of is Shrilliss, and then there's the last names/titles Sheerfeather, Talonslayer, and Scrabclaw, which seem to be inspired by words associated with birds. What names would you pick for a female harpy? Thanks!
  8. I agree with you OP. I think having at least 3 options (they/them, she/her, he/him) would be great.
  9. I think given the recent changes to combat and professions, it should be slightly easier to add new elite specs, because they don't have to accommodate a new weapon in particular. They can just introduce a new mechanic, new skill, new trait lines. So I'm hoping they will release a few more.
  10. Hey everyone. Just curious to know which stats you think are best for the scepter, and also which build(s) you think could work well combining the Deadeye specialization with the scepter. I will mostly play open world as well as WvW. Thanks for the help!
  11. I already got my skyscale and I'm pretty happy about it. Back then if I had been given the option to get it in an easier way I would have accepted. So I'm glad others have that choice now 🙂
